In the Venray neighborhood of Antoniusveld, there is an iconic leaning acacia tree that has been the neighborhood's landmark for years. As the tree continues to lean, it received a special support in the form of a work of art.
Neighborhood resident Jos Ensink was inspired by an old photo of his grandchild pushing against the tree. Together with Rick Voermans of Voermans Metalz, a design came to life with help from Kersten of Wanssum, specialists in bending technology. The arms are made of stainless steel and the dress of conical shaped Corten steel.
The result is a unique tree support where art, creativity and technology come together.
On April 16 2025, the artwork was festively unveiled - under the watchful eye of local residents, the creator and his now 20-year-old grandchild. A fine example of cooperation and community spirit!
