When Alex took on his first management position in 2011, he wondered how his team could improve. By gaining experience at different companies, he discovered what management style suited him and how he could get the best results.

"For almost six years, I worked as a CAD/CAM consultant for various companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, implementing highly complex projects," says Alex. This way, he learned to apply his knowledge directly in practice and was able to analyse both the advantages and disadvantages in detail. Alex smiles: "At the time, I was a kind of 'bee' who flew from company to company to exchange knowledge."
In 2018, he came across the Kersten company in Steißlingen. Automation of work processes was still in its infancy and there was a nice challenge for him there. "The combination between mechanics and the interesting and complex products that Kersten produces fascinated me immediately and I still find it very interesting!"

The difference

"At Kersten, machining goes much further than at other companies. The great challenge is to mechanically process bent products on the milling machine and to carry out the processing with great precision. I am therefore particularly proud to have developed suitable measuring cycles on the machine and to have implemented them in the CAD/CAM software," says Alex.
He is currently responsible for the mechanics and core stretch bending departments, two completely separate technical areas. He also works as a supervisor and coaches new employees in their learning process.
